Recently, the group standard "General Specification for Sodium Ion Batteries" (“the Standard”, hereinafter) formulated with the participation of QINKUAL Energy has been approved and released by the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association, and will be implemented from November 30, 2023.
The Standard released this time specified the terminology, definitions and symbols, model designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and general requirements for labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of sodium-ion batteries, which are applicable to sodium-ion battery cells and battery modules used in fields such as electric vehicles, light power, and energy storage. This standard helped accelerate the industrialization of sodium batteries, leading and supporting the application and high-quality development of sodium ion batteries.
Sodium-ion batteries are one of the key supports for achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. With the continuous maturity of sodium-ion battery production technology and the gradual promotion of large-scale production, there is an urgent need for relevant standards to regulate sodium-ion batteries, providing a basis for their research and development, production, and application.
